The Five Gigayachts Defining the Top of the 2026 Charter Market

Five yachts defining the top of the charter market in 2026. Rates, availability, and a working broker's perspective on each — KISMET, BREAKTHROUGH, RENAISSANCE, SYMPHONY, MOONRISE.

There is a point on the spectrum of yachting where the vocabulary changes. Above 90 metres, vessels stop being “superyachts” and become something else entirely: floating private residences with the displacement of small ocean liners, the amenities of five-star resorts, and the engineering of ships of state.

Only a handful are ever offered for private charter. Rates start at around €1.9 million per week and rise past €4 million. I have been on board several of the yachts below personally, and I can tell you the price tag does warrant what you get for the money — although “value” is not the word most people would reach for first.

This is a working broker’s guide to the five yachts defining the very top of the charter market in 2026, what makes each one distinct, and what prospective clients actually need to know before enquiring.

1. KISMET — €3,000,000 per week

Few names in yachting carry the cachet of KISMET. The current iteration is a 122-metre Lürssen that has established itself as one of the most sought-after charter yachts in the world almost from the moment she launched.

I spent time on board at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2024, where she was the undisputed focus of the show. KISMET is extraordinary on every level. The engine room corridor makes you feel as though you are walking through a spacecraft. The spa is beyond anything I have encountered on a yacht. Opulent does not quite cover it.

Availability: Wide availability across both the summer and winter seasons.

2. BREAKTHROUGH — €3,500,000 per week

A landmark 118-metre Feadship, BREAKTHROUGH is defined as much by her engineering as her elegance. Hybrid propulsion, a near-silent cruising experience, and a commitment to operational efficiency rarely seen at this scale place her in a category of her own.

She has been the yacht of every conversation across 2025. I saw her from a tender at the Monaco Yacht Show — even from the water, she is clearly one of the most resolved vessels in her size bracket. The story behind her owner is equally remarkable; if that does not inspire you, little else will.

Availability: Wide availability across the summer and winter seasons.

3. RENAISSANCE — €4,000,000 per week

At €4 million per week, RENAISSANCE commands the highest charter rate on this list. She earns it.

Built to the very highest standards, with guest spaces designed for extended voyages in genuine comfort, she accommodates 36 guests across 19 cabins. That makes her an almost uncontested choice for large multi-generational family charters and private retreats of real consequence. Her rate reflects rarity and provenance as much as dimensions.

Availability: Wide availability this summer and across the upcoming winter season.

4. SYMPHONY — €1,900,000 per week

The 102-metre Feadship whose silhouette has become a reference point for modern superyacht design. SYMPHONY pairs understated exterior lines with interiors of extraordinary refinement: exterior by Tim Heywood, interior by Peter Marino and François Zuretti.

She remains one of the defining Feadships of her generation, and one of my personal favourites: spacious, elegant, quietly assured. At €1.9 million per week, she offers one of the most compelling rate-to-experience ratios at the top of the market.

Availability: Limited weeks this summer across the Western Mediterranean.

5. MOONRISE — €2,000,000 per week

A 99-metre Feadship delivered to acclaim and almost immediately established as one of the most design-led yachts afloat. MOONRISE prizes texture and material over ostentation — her interior rewards close inspection far more than a first glance.

Her owner is known as an avid superyacht owner with a notable fleet. The most recent addition sits only marginally larger than the original MOONRISE, with specific differences not yet public but appearing minimal to the eye.

Planning a charter at this level

Weekly rates at the top of the market are only part of the picture. Charter fees typically exclude VAT, the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), and delivery and redelivery costs — together these can add 40% or more to the headline number, depending on the cruising area.

More importantly, availability at this tier is won months in advance. Charters on KISMET, BREAKTHROUGH, or RENAISSANCE for peak summer weeks tend to be concluded by the previous autumn. Any enquiry in April for August is, in practical terms, a conversation about leftover weeks, not prime weeks.

Every charter at this level is concluded on the MYBA Charter Agreement — the industry-standard contract that protects your deposit, defines the yacht’s obligations, and governs every term of the hire. If a broker ever suggests working outside of it, that alone should tell you enough.
